Neil Gascoigne - multiple hickory winner

Neil Gascoigne from Newcastle Upon Tyne in the north of England is playing some very excellent golf lately.  He has won the last three Scottish Hickory Opens, the most recent at Dunbar.  He won the Welsh Hickory at Aberdovey this spring and hopes to complete the UK triple crown with a win at Rye later this year.  

I had the pleasure to play against Neil at the Hickory Grail in foursomes and alongside him in the single matches.  First of all, he is a gentleman- a pleasure to play with and socialize with.   He played superbly, but I missed his amazing round in the fourball matches.  He shot an even par 72 at the Old Course in St. Andrews.  During those matches the official ball is our JH Taylor soft mesh ball.  Neil liked how it played with antique hickories and has played these events with it ever since.
